Underground Water Depletion
There’s nothing essential for life than water. People use water in their daily activities like cooking, drinking, washing, bathing, and growing their foods. Without water, these activities are not possible. With clean water, people need water in more quantity.
With the increase in population, construction work has increased and everyone wants his/her own home. People have to destroy natural resources land in order to get land for their homes. Due to these activities, the ecosystem has disturbed. Everyone doesn’t have access to supply water. So, in order to meet their water needs, they dig wells in their houses. With the increase in the number of wells, the underground water level has now depleted not only in drought areas but also in those areas that were rich in water resources.
In order to get more water peoples are now digging their wells as deep as possible. The peoples who are wealthy can afford this burden but those who just earn on daily basis can’t afford to make their well deep. But the peoples that are making their wells deeps are neglecting one thing here, by digging deeper they can get water but the underground water level is decreasing so fast that in coming years all the underground water they have will go away.
They are making their wells deep but they are not even trying to keep the balance of underground water level. Peoples are taking water from the ground but they are not returning water back to the ground. Due to this, the underground water level has now crossed 100 feet of depth.
In order to catch the problem, I have walked around my area as it’s important to get an overview of my surroundings to catch the route cause of the problem and I have observed that in my 500-meter circle there are more than 50+ wells built and here I found the answer that’s creating the problem.
With these observations, I have come up with a problem that is not only affecting myself but also the peoples who are in my surrounding. This experience helped me to take a look at the problems that we mostly ignore and now it’s time to make an effective solution for this problem.. See you in the next blog…
